Freyberger takes Dubai trend hops

The Freyberger butcher shop creates its own Dubai sausages for €15 per pair. These are gold-plated beef sausages with pistachio and macadamia nuts. Available exclusively in the company's stores.

Dubai chocolate – where does the trend come from?

Whether on YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram, no one can ignore the Dubai chocolate hype. The trend began with a viral video on TikTok by influencer Maria Vehera. She showcases Dubai chocolate and devours it with relish. Subsequently, other influencers, even brands and supermarkets, jumped on the trend.

The composition of the chocolate makes it so special. Pistachio cream and angel hair make this milk chocolate a hit. But that's not all. Price and exclusivity also play a role. Tim Gensheimer (market and social researcher at the SINUS Institute) explains to ZDF that this is due to the growing desire of certain consumer groups for exclusive moments of indulgence and a strong focus on trends.

The presentation on relevant social media platforms proceeds as follows: The protagonist presents the chocolate and slowly breaks it. The slow cracking sound and the oozing pistachio cream are characteristic of Dubai chocolate. The video creator then indulges in the chocolate, demonstrating how delicious this exclusive treat is.

The Dubai sausage – a bargain!

The Freyberger butcher shop is very active on social media itself, serving TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. Dirk Freyberger is regularly in front of the camera and therefore follows various trends. "Some people stand in line for two hours to spend over 10 euros on 80g of chocolate," Dirk explains, stunned.

Then one morning, the butcher had an idea. In the sausage kitchen, he grabbed macadamia and pistachio nuts, along with beef sausage meat, and created the Dubai sausage. Dirk also gilded it. It's actually a beef sausage, similar to the classic Wienerle .

Freyberger is taking the idea further. The Dubai sausage will be available exclusively in the butcher's branches, for €15.00 per pair. "Anyone who doesn't know what to do with their money can buy a few Dubai sausages," jokes the master butcher. While the Dubai sausage is a high-priced sausage, it's still cheaper than the Dubai chocolate. "It costs about half as much as the chocolate, making it a real bargain," jokes the sausage satirist.

Dirk also jokes: "Even if there's nothing going on in our store, we still make prospective customers wait two hours to get the Dubai sausage." But: The wait should be worth it. After all, the Dubai sausage is even gold-plated and is ideal for presentation in videos. "The sausage is also extra crispy, and there's nothing better than watching others devour priceless products up close," the meat sommelier ironically remarks.

Satirical videos will be published on the butcher's social media channels later this week.
