World Butchers' Challenge 2025 Part 2 online

After we already published the first part of the World Butchers' Challenge 2025 with Dirk Freyberger and his team (Butcher Wolfpack) on our YouTube channel , the second part is now online. You can find it here .

The second part is about our up-and-coming talent, Pascal Karatay. He's competing as a Young Butcher at the World Butchers Championships. What's special about this meat sommelier is that he's not a trained butcher. Karatay taught himself how to boning on his own, with the help of Dirk Freyberger. All this alongside his current job as a specialist salesperson with us.

“I want to show what specialist salespeople can do”

He consistently showcased his progress via livestreams, earning online hate for it. However, the young butcher isn't going to let that deter him and is showing off his skills on the world stage. "I want to show what specialized salespeople can do," Karatay says.

The previous year, Pascal Karatay had already proven himself at Butcher Wars Germany , bringing home the victory to Nuremberg. But as the current BBQ World Champion for Best Beef, the specialist retailer is also already competition-tested. "I enjoy competitions, and I want to constantly improve," explains the meat sommelier.

“Meat is my life”

The World Butchers' Challenge will take place in Paris at the end of March 2025. A total of 23 butchers will compete as Young Butchers, including Pascal Karatay. The challenge: The participants must completely transform two chickens , half a lamb , a rump of beef , and a side of pork into products in two and a half hours and then present them on a themed display.

Pascal trained hard and long in advance for this. With the motto "Fine Dining," he's taking on the world's top butchers. A theme that also guides his barbecue seminars . "Meat is my life, and that's reflected in my display," reveals the young butcher.

"As a butcher shop, we can only say how proud we are of Pascal," says owner Dirk Freyberger. The butcher shop's goal is to continually promote such talented individuals and provide them with all the support they need. We won't disclose any further information; after all, that's what this video is for.
