Freybergers vegetarische Bratwurst aus feinstem Cheddar

Following the example of her big brother, the winner of ourBratwurst Contest 2021Our vegetarian Cheesy Gonzales – our homemade vegetarian bratwurst – is a true champion. As the name suggests, it's made with the finest cheddar, refined with spicy jalapenos for a truly unique flavor experience. This makes our vegetarian bratwurst a cheesy treat, completely meat-free. It's delicious not only for vegetarians but also for meat lovers. Why not try it for yourself?

Wie bereite ich die vegegarische Bratwurst zu?

Our Cheesy Gonzales are easy to prepare both on the grill and in a pan. In this respect, they're hardly different from their meaty bratwurst counterparts. For pan-cooking, use a little clarified butter or oil and turn the sausage frequently. Since the cheese already contains a fair amount of fat, we recommend using only a little oil. It shouldn't be swimming in fat. As a side dish, we recommend serving them with green or mixed salads, especially potato dishes or sautéed vegetables. Meat-eaters can also enjoy our Cheesy Gonzales with grilled meat or grilled sausage for the ultimate cheesy treat.

The vegetarian bratwurst unfolds its full aroma when you grill it slowly over medium heat or fry it in a pan. Combine it with fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme for additional flavor nuances. Plant-based sausages pair particularly well with grilled vegetables, colorful salads, or as an ingredient in hearty stews. For an authentic grilling experience, you can lightly brush the vegan bratwurst with rapeseed oil before grilling – this makes the surface beautifully crispy. Make sure not to fry the bratwurst too hot, as soy and wheat protein burn faster than meat. With the right preparation, your meatless alternative is in no way inferior to the original in terms of taste.
