Nuremberg. Following last year's success, the Three in Gingerbread are returning to Freyberger Butcher Shop and are now available for pre-order. These are three homemade Nuremberg Rostbratwürste (grilled sausages) baked into a handcrafted gingerbread.
Christmas Wonder Pastry
Nuremberg is particularly known for its Christkindlesmarkt during the Christmas season. Every year, Nuremberg's winter wonderland attracts visitors from numerous countries to the city. But it's not just the Christmas market itself that is famous. The Nuremberg Rostbratwürste, the Stadtwurst (city sausage), and of course the gingerbread, also enjoy worldwide attention. It's therefore not surprising that a local butcher shop combines festive gingerbread and sausages. Freyberger focuses on artisanal production. You can find a short video about this specialty here.
Last year, Freyberger Butcher Shop already combined Nuremberg Bratwürste and gingerbread, making headlines. "We didn't expect our product to be so incredibly well received," explains master butcher and meat sommelier Dirk Freyberger. It was not planned to reintroduce the Three in Gingerbread to the assortment, Dirk adds. What started as a gag is now a permanent fixture at Freyberger Butcher Shop. You can find out more here.
The Three in Gingerbread now available
For this reason, the Three in Gingerbread are back this year. Just in time for the first Advent, this specialty is available for pre-order. It is possible to order the Three in Gingerbread for nationwide shipping in the online shop or to pick up the treat at one of the butcher shop's branches (Katzwanger Hauptstraße 40 or Sperberstraße 99, Nuremberg). "Customers have already been asking us about it because they didn't get to enjoy it last year," Freyberger reveals.
So, the delicacy is now available again for the Christmas season. Specifically, every Friday and Saturday before the respective Advent Sundays. Orders for shipping will be sent on the Thursday before the Advent weekends.
After that, the Three in Gingerbread will disappear again. So, if you missed this delicacy last year, now is your chance to try it, or of course, taste it again. "We haven't changed the recipe, and those who honor Nuremberg will also love the Three in Gingerbread," says Dirk.
