Nuremberg. On February 28, 2026, the Freyberger butcher shop will inaugurate its new "Fleisch verliebt" (Meat in Love) branch in the parking lot of Pflanzen-Kölles (Geissestraße 65) in Nuremberg. To mark the occasion, they are organizing a large grilling event and raffling off prizes on site. The reason: the opening of an AI-powered 24/7 branch.

At the opening, there will be free grilled meat and sausages. In addition, the Freyberger butcher shop will host a wheel of fortune with various prizes. Participation here is also free. Various discount codes can be won, and the main prize: a 100-euro voucher. Our customer named Walter will receive this.
Furthermore, Dirk Freyberger will explain to all interested parties on site how the new branch works and present the product selection of butcher quality. "The rush is huge - many more want to come in than there is space," explains Freyberger.
This also attracted Nuremberg's Mayor Marcus König. He listened to Dirk's explanations and formed his own impression of the butcher shop. "It's the modern general store of the future," says the politician.
Shop whenever you want
The 24/7 butcher shop offers butcher-quality meat and sausage products around the clock, every day of the week. However, the assortment is not limited to classics but also offers products for quick preparation. "It's virtually a village shop where you can buy everything whenever you want," reveals the master butcher.
Pre-cooked sous-vide ribs for the oven or even goulash and bolognese for reheating are not uncommon here. In addition, there are snacks and bake-off pretzels. But also exclusive steaks, such as Japanese Wagyu or Special Cuts from regional meat, are available.
The branch is video-monitored and digitized. This means that access works either with an EC card or customers can register via smartphone at login.mf58.de. This provides a code that also authorizes access to the butcher shop.
The advantage: This is the only way to get a chance at discount promotions and to see in advance which products are currently available. Important: The store can be entered and exited free of charge at any time.
Focus on individuality
The branch focuses on a shopping experience at your own pace. There is no staff on site. Everyone can look around at their leisure and choose their desired goods. In addition, the butcher shop is camera-monitored. In emergencies, the owners are informed immediately. "I have already been able to easily help several customers because I can precisely understand problems through this," reports the Nuremberg resident.
Furthermore, the assortment changes to adapt to individual customer needs. Payment is cashless. Customers place their products in a scanner, which automatically recognizes the goods, and the customer can simply pay by card.
The receipt also comes digitally. "High-tech and innovation also mean environmental awareness. By digitizing the receipt, we cause much less waste, thus achieving a huge environmentally friendly effect," Dirk clarifies.
The AI Sales Assistant
If you would like advice, you can use our AI assistant. This can be operated via voice control and provides customers with all information about desired products.
The AI assistant can also provide recipes and preparation tips as well as occasion-related recommendations. "And the coolest thing: the AI assistant can even greet you by your first name when you enter the store. But this is only possible with registered customers," Freyberger explains.
