Nuremberg. The Bavarian Minister-President and one of Bavaria's biggest food influencers is visiting the Freyberger butcher shop. The occasion: the outstanding performance of the Butcher Wolfpack , led by Dirk Freyberger, at the World Butcher Championships in Paris in 2025. Here's a short video of the visit.

The world's best pork sausage

The Butcher Wolfpack competed in the World Butchers' Challenge (WBC) in Paris in March of this year. The Wolves represent Germany as a team at international competitions. "We train for several years to even be able to participate in such a championship," explains Dirk Freyberger.

In addition to the runner-up title, the team also won the title for the world's best pork sausage . Furthermore, Katharina Bertl and Dirk Freyberger were inducted into the Butchers' World Championship Hall of Fame, with Dirk Freyberger being honored as the world's best team captain . "I'm incredibly proud that my team consistently achieves such a high level of performance," said the team captain. You can find a video about it here .

Söder tries world champion sausage

A self-professed lover of Franconian and Bavarian cuisine, Markus Söder visits the Freyberger butcher shop. The Wolfpack Butchers are also on site. Together with Dirk Freyberger, he grills the World Champion Bratwurst on a Monolith grill . It's a Franconian bratwurst with an apple and onion flavor. "I'm incredibly pleased that our efforts are attracting such interest," Freyberger reveals.

Markus Söder tastes the team's world-champion bratwurst . His verdict: He clearly enjoys it. A complete success for the butchers. "This is a great honor for us," says Dirk. For this reason, Söder also receives a small gift: a Giesser knife .

As one of Bavaria's biggest food influencers, the Minister-President makes it clear on his social media channels that sausage and meat are more than just food. These culinary specialties are a way of life, he says, and he demonstrates this during a tasting of the World Champion Bratwurst at the Freyberger butcher shop. "The fact that our craft is recognized with such words is the true title," the World Champion captain affirms.
