Nuremberg butcher shop unites landmarks
The Freyberger butcher shop is offering three Nuremberg bratwursts wrapped in gingerbread for the third Advent weekend. This is a limited-time special offer, available both in-store and for nationwide delivery via the butcher shop's online shop.
The landmarks of Nuremberg
Nuremberg has always been known for its bratwurst and gingerbread. But not everyone is allowed to offer these specialties. The Nuremberg Bratwurst is subject to certain conditions. Firstly, it has a special recipe, shape, and size, and secondly, the sausage must be made in Nuremberg to be called a Nuremberg Bratwurst . Now the Freyberger butcher shop is combining these delicacies. "Our butcher shop is located in Nuremberg, which is why we produce the Nuremberg Bratwurst here and are allowed to call it that," explains Dirk Freyberger.
Furthermore, Dirk loves gingerbread and values not only the butcher's trade, but also the food trade per se. "The food trade pulls together; baked goods must be valued just as much as meat products," says the Nuremberg native. The butcher's shop has long offered both classic and specialty rolls, such as burger buns , cakes, and cookies in its stores. "I can't resist either gingerbread or Nuremberg bratwurst ," reveals the two-time Bratwurst King . The combination is now a logical step.

Even at a young age, Dirk was captivated by the Nuremberg Christmas spirit. "Christmas in Nuremberg is a must-experience, and we're a part of it," Freyberger explains. The Christmas market, gingerbread, and bratwurst from the artisan butcher simply belong together.
Three in gingerbread only available in limited quantities
In keeping with the Christmas season and the start of the Nuremberg Christmas market, the Freyberger butcher shop is launching a special promotion. The Nuremberg bratwurst in gingerbread will be available only on the weekend of the third Advent, December 13th and 14th. The three in gingerbread are available at the butcher shop's branches at Sperberstraße 99 and Katzwanger Hauptstraße 40, as well as for nationwide delivery via the butcher shop's online shop. Important: If you're absolutely sure you want to try these special gingerbreads, you should pre-order them. But time is running out. The order deadline is December 7, 2024.
"We love our craft as much as we love Nuremberg," says the meat sommelier. This is why the butcher shop developed this idea. The Freybergers are known for extravagant innovations. Whether it's a Käsespätzle bratwurst , a Dönakäs (a German sausage), or a pitch-black bratwurst for Halloween, the butchers push the boundaries of creativity within their craft.
A few more short videos are planned for the butcher's social media channels , so customers can get a better idea of the product. "It's simply important to us to give the craft a platform," reveals Dirk. Butchers are no longer shy and rare personalities. Quite the opposite. "Especially now at Christmas time, we can once again demonstrate how diverse our trade is," Freyberger emphasizes.
This raises the question of what else the Freybergers are up to - which Dirk answers with a wink.
